Foto Friday: Take Me Out to the Ball Game

Last weekend (yes, I’m that far behind) I took a road trip with Stephanie and Drew to visit our friends Jennifer and Drew in Ohio.  We visited them in their lovely home and then went to a Cubs-Reds game.   Cubs lost (boo!), but a  great time was had by all:

The game went into extra innings. They stopped serving beer after the 7th. What else was I going to do?

I don’t mean to complain, but . . .

Have you ever noticed that when someone starts a sentence with “I don’t mean to ___, but”  they usually end up doing/saying/being whatever it is they claim to not MEAN to be?

This is one of those times.

I don’t mean to complain, but…   I realized I haven’t been shopping  bought anything for msyelf in AGES.    Sure, I’ve been to the grocery store.  And I’ve bought shampoo and whatnot at Walgreens, but I honestly don’t remember the last time I bought myself clothes.  I think the reason it’s bugging me is that I’ve been shopping plenty of times– just not for myself.

Like everyone else, I’ve been trying to cut back.  And I’m having my house painted, so I need to pinch my pennies.  But every time I open my email or go to my mailbox there are coupons and “big sales” luring me in.

Maybe one pair of shoes won’t hurt….
